Dr. Khalid Al Meshari is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at Alfaisal University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Consultant Adult Transplant Nephrology, Organ Transplant Centre of Excellence at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC), Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), Fellow of the American Society of Transplantation (FAST), and the previous Chairman of the Department of Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation at KFSH&RC, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, he is the Chairman of the National Paired Kidney Donation Committee at Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation (SCOT) and Director of HLA and ABO Incompatible Kidney Transplantation and Paired Kidney Donation (PKD) at KFSH&RC.

He is an American Board certified in medicine and nephrology, and ASHI certified Director of HLA and Immunogenetics Laboratory. During his tenure as Director of Renal Transplant Unit and later as the Chairman of the Department of Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation (2001-2013), he led the most active and advanced renal transplant program in the region (the first ever to be accredited by AST for fellowship training outside North America).

Camille Nelson Kotton MD, FIDSA, FAST is the Clinical Director of Transplant and Immunocompromised Host Infectious Diseases in the Infectious Diseases Division at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She spends the majority of her time seeing inpatients and outpatients, before and after solid organ and bone marrow transplant, as well as other immunocompromised hosts. Her interests include vaccination, travel medicine for transplant recipients, and reducing the infectious risks of immunocompromising medications. She has written numerous articles and chapters, and also speaks nationally and internationally on a regular basis. She is the past chair of the Infectious Disease Community of Practice, American Society of Transplantation, and is on the planning committee for the American Transplant Congress. She has excellent clinic flexibility and can often see transplant patients on a fairly immediate basis.

Dr. Tonelli is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario’s Faculty of Medicine (1995), and completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Western Ontario (1998), Dalhousie University (2002) and the Harvard School of Public Health (2002). He spent 12 years with the University of Alberta’s Department of Medicine, and joined the University of Calgary in 2014, taking on the roles of Senior Associate Dean (Clinical Research) and Associate Vice President (Health Research), which he held until 2024.

Dr. Tonelli’s research focus is improving the care of people with chronic kidney disease and other noncommunicable diseases. He has partnered with regional, provincial and national decision-making bodies to inform clinical practice and impact health policy in this area. He completed a volunteership at the World Health Organization in 2013-2014, focusing on treatment of noncommunicable diseases following natural disasters and civil conflict. During this time he also completed an MSc in Health Policy from Imperial College London.

Dr. Tonelli is a co-lead for the Alberta-based Interdisciplinary Chronic Disease Collaboration. He is chair emeritus of the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care and a past President of the Canadian Society of Nephrology. He is a past member of the Governing Council of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), and the past chair of the CIHR’s Standing Committee on Ethics. He established and is the inaugural Director of the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for the Prevention and Control of Chronic Kidney Disease.

Dr. Dupont is a Consultant Nephrologist with a subspecialty interest in renal transplantation. His clinical interests include the assessment of medically complex transplant recipients and prospective kidney donors. He also provides inpatient and outpatient general nephrology services at Barnet Hospital, where he is responsible for the Barnet renal dialysis unit.

Dr. Dupont graduated from RCSI Medical School in Dublin in 1993. He completed his nephrology training on the North Thames specialty training scheme and was awarded a PhD in transplantation immunology from Imperial College London in 2005. In 2006, he was appointed Consultant Nephrologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Royal Free Hospital, and in 2008 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. He is dual accredited in Renal Medicine and General Internal Medicine. His clinical practice covers all aspects of general nephrology, including the investigation and management of acute and chronic kidney disease and difficult-to-control hypertension, as well as renal biopsy, haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and renal transplantation.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Dupont has published numerous papers and is actively involved in research in renal transplantation, including pre-transplant assessment, transplantation immunology, infectious and other complications of transplantation, and the management of chronic transplant rejection. He is also the principal investigator for several clinical trials in renal transplantation. He holds primary medical qualifications from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ireland and the National University of Ireland, both obtained in 1993, and is a member of the Renal Association, the British Transplantation Society and the London Transplant Research Network.

Dr. Chee Kay Cheung is a Consultant Nephrologist and Honorary Associate Professor at the University Hospitals of Leicester, UK. His clinical and research interests focus on glomerular diseases, particularly IgA nephropathy, vasculitis and lupus nephritis. He leads several investigator-initiated studies and has held leadership roles across multiple international clinical trials, including as a Steering Committee member and UK Chief Investigator. He is Treasurer and a Steering Committee member of the International IgAN Network, and Deputy Chair of the UK IgAN RaDaR group. He serves on the editorial board for Kidney International.

Hiddo Lambers Heerspink is Professor of Clinical Trials and Personalized Medicine and a clinical trialist at the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology at the University Medical Center Groningen. He is also visiting professor at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. He studied pharmacy at the University of Groningen and received his PhD from the University Medical Center Groningen.

Professor Lambers Heerspink’s research interests focus on optimizing current treatment strategies and finding new therapeutic approaches to halt the progression of kidney and cardiovascular diseases in patients with diabetes with a specific focus on personalized medicine. He leads numerous clinical trials with new interventions to reduce diabetes related kidney and cardiovascular complications. His main expertise includes clinical trial design, personalized medicine and methodological aspects and statistical analyses of clinical trials.

Professor L. Heerspink has authored and co-authored over 350 peer-reviewed publications and is editorial board member of Diabetes Obesity and Metabolism and the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology. Prof L. Dr. Brad H. Rovin is the Lee A. Hebert Professor of Nephrology. Dr. Rovin received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston Illinois and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis Missouri, and a Fellowship in Nephrology at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis. He joined the Ohio State University College of Medicine Faculty in 1990, became Director of the Division of Nephrology in 2004, and served as Vice Chairman of Medicine for Research from 2009-2019. In 2019 he became the Medical Director of the Ohio State University Center for Clinical Research Management.

Dr. Rovin has had several committee and leadership roles in the American Society of Nephrology, including the annual meeting program committee, running the Glomerular Diseases Pre-Course and Co-Editing NephSAP-Glomerular Diseases, a continuing education program of the Society.
